So, the past week or so, Emma (Terry) and I have been working together on the 'creating a magazine' task, whereby we were asked to design a front cover, a double-page spread, and a single-page spread for a magazine aimed at a youth audience. We then had to present our work to both of the Media classes, explaining why we made certain choices with design and layout.
WWW: First of all, I think that despite being the first group to go up and present, Emma and I managed to be confident and express our ideas well. We tried to justify every decision we made in regards to the design, choices in layout and content of the magazine, constantly referring to the target audience and how we made the magazine appropriate for a youth audience. I also think that Emma and I kept well to the deadline, as our work was in on time, and we equally shared the work load, for example, we both put forward our ideas for the front cover, and I produced the design; Emma created the double-page spread, and I created the single-page spread. For this reason, I think we made a great team!
EBI: If Emma and I were to complete out presentation again, we would ensure that we explained our decisions behind why we made the layout different to a typical magazine, so that the group of people we were presenting to would understand our choices. Also, if we were to go back and edit the magazine, I would make a few small changes, for example, putting page numbers on the bottom of the pages to make the magazine more realistic. Apart from that, I think we did well as a team and we tried to follow the brief as best as we could.
